The Sun apologizes for hateful Meghan text

In the speech, Clarkson makes a very disparaging and aggressive statement about Prince Harry’s wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

The story was removed from The Sun website, and the paper issued an apology on Friday.

“We at The Sun regret the publication of this article, and we sincerely regret it.”

In the column, Clarkson writes that he hates Meghan and “dreams of the day she parades naked through the streets of every town in England.”

Jeremy Clarkson wrote the text after watching the Duke couple’s acclaimed Netflix documentary series “Harry & Meghan.” Reactions were not long in coming and more than 20,000 reports – a record – were submitted to Ipso, the British equivalent of Sweden’s media ombudsman, in a short period of time.

On Monday, the newspaper removed the article — at Clarkson’s request. At the time, Clarkson wondered about the reactions to the text.

The 62-year-old presenter initially tried to defend himself by saying that he was only referring to the TV series “Game of Thrones”, but in the end he was forced to crawl on the cross and admit that he was wrong.

This isn’t the first time TV personality Jeremy Clarkson has come under fire for his mean pen and sarcastic tone. In a column in 2020, he called Greta Thunberg “a spoiled brat” who should act like a good girl and shut up.

In 2015, the presenter was fired from the BBC’s long-running ‘Top Gear’ after attacking the show’s producer. He was repeatedly criticized for using homophobic and racist language.
