Rumors about the next generation of graphics cards have been welcomed, with Nvidia’s Geforce RTX 4000 series likely to debut in August along with the top-of-the-line RTX 4090. Manufacturing with a more advanced node, updated “Ada Lovelace” architecture and more CUDA cores are some additional information circulating, to Besides allegations of severely inflated power outlets. At the top, it could be around 600 watts, but now it seems that even the simplest cards can jump a notch higher.
It is the popular Twitter profile “kopite7kimi” who declares their interest in the performance of the Geforce RTX 4060, as this mid-range card “has a higher power output than the RTX 3070”. The TBP for the latter model is 220 watts, while the RTX 3060 is set at 170 watts. If the power boost is correct, that means at least 29 percent more cream to power the graphics card.
Shrinking manufacturing technology and updated architecture leads to increased energy efficiency and therefore better performance at a given power output. With the latter increased, the Geforce RTX 4060 is expected to be 29% sharper, which means at least performance in the same area as the RTX 3070 or perhaps the RTX 3070 Ti.
It can be added that at least 50W of additional power output is a relatively big change between two generations, with only 10W separating the Geforce RTX 3060 and RTX 2060. The gap between the GTX 1060 and RTX 2060, on the other hand, is up to 40W, It is accompanied by a $100 higher target. The future will show whether recent information is correct, and if so, what performance and impact steps await when the next generation of the middle class enters the stage.
