This is how MINI will become a completely electric car brand
15% of MINI’s sales today are electrified models. By 2030, MINI will be a fully electric car brand. Future MINI models will be manufactured in the UK and from 2023 in Germany and China.

2023 offers the next generation of electrified MINI
As of September this year, MINI’s sales were up 7.9 percent compared to the same period last year. The growing interest in electric mobility is clearly noticeable, and the share of electric cars now stands at more than 15 percent of total sales.
By 2023, MINI will be the first model in the next generation cars to have a full electric driveline. In the future the basic range will include small car and small sections MINI 3-door and crossover models. In addition, MINI is developing new model concepts from John Cooper Works with Electric Driveline.
MINI production in Germany and China
From 2023, new electric models in the small car segment will be manufactured at the new factory in East China. This will meet the increased demand in China and other international markets. Production for the next generation of the MINI Countryman will also begin in 2023, manufactured at BMW Group’s factory in Leipzig. This will be the first MINI made in Germany.
Other models will be manufactured at the MINI plant in Oxford, which continues to be the heart of MINI’s production. Thus, the UK will continue to be the homeland of the UK brand.
