Britain announced on Thursday that it had concluded a new deal with Sweden. According to their press release, the agreement was reached within two months.
“This underscores the strong ties with our Swedish allies who have stood by and supported this challenging deadline,” the British Ministry of Defense wrote in the statement.
So much so that the UK gets many Archer formations
A total of 14 Archer artillery systems are to be delivered to the British Army this month. They expect them to be “fully operational” by April and replace the systems Britain has given Ukraine.
– We continue to press our unwavering support for Ukraine, while replenishing our resources domestically is vital, says Defense Minister Ben Wallace.
– Archer cannon systems are powerful, safe and can be deployed quickly. This agreement with a close European partner will sustain the needs of the British Army until the long-term MFP program is brought into service – a program we are working hard to accelerate.
The MFP project was intended to replace the current British howitzers with more modern equipment.
