Three points was all that was enough for Vasa Sport in a vital home match against Jokoret. There was only one.
Teams have been overwhelmed by sports as finalists all winter long.
But now it looks like the playoffs train is starting to move – and the sport is still on the podium. At home against Jukurit – another team that barely made it out of the playoffs – it was a bitter loss in overtime.
And that after a match did not provide the finest beauty.
In the middle of the match, the visitors took the lead through a free-kick goal by Pekka Yurmaka. The profile player was awarded a free position after Sportback Emil Johansson – who is rumored to want to leave Vasa – neglected the puck as the last man.
It was decided to return to the free position
Sport entered the race in the same period with Jan Kieranen’s rear lift. But after tonight’s match, it is Jokoret’s quest primarily for the playoffs that continues.
Saint-Michel is two points behind top-ranked HPK after hitting a crucial puck in overtime.
The goal came after Marcus Oden’s free kick attempt missed both posts. Cage keeper Niko Houtanen was unable to dispose of the play equipment, which Niko Houtanen had swept away.
– I chose to follow Odin as he set off, even though I couldn’t keep up with his pace. Eventually I was able to put the disc in, Huuhtanen tells C More.
Sport, in turn, is in thirteenth place. The distance to HPK is nine points, but Vasalaget has played two games less.
