Back in the day, it felt like Sony was showing off new cool stuff every day, and that’s not the case anymore, but they haven’t given up on Walkman players just yet. Namely, the company has just introduced the Walkman NW-A306, which should be designed for listeners interested in high-quality sound. And pattern. The Walkman player has a 3.6-inch screen and weighs only 113 grams. Android operating system and the battery should last 36 hours of listening. There is no information about the size of the built-in memory, but it can be expanded using microSD.
Of course, the NW-A306 supports Sony’s Digital Streaming, or DSD, for high-res music listening. For regular files, there is also Sony’s DSEE Ultimate (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) technology, which should raise the quality of music to CD-quality (16-bit 44.1 / 48 kHz). I’m not sure how many hi-fi fans would care about something like that.
Sony says pricing and availability for the NW-A306 will be announced at a later date.
And one last detail: there is a headphone jack.
