SkiStar gets a new destination manager in Åre

After a solid hiring process, it is now clear that Åre’s new destination manager for SkiStar is named Sebastian Thomasson. He will take office on October 1.

“I am very happy to gain the trust and the opportunity so now, as the new Destination Manager at Åre, I will be able to continue developing the destination together with all the wonderful staff and partners,” he says Sebastian Thomasson, new destination manager for SkiStar.

Sebastian has worked at SkiStar in Åre since 2000 in various roles and for the past seven years as a guest relations business area manager focusing on ski rental, SkiPass sales, lift hosts, ski school and reception. Prior to that, he held the position of Business Area Manager at SkiStarshop for a number of years. He started his career in Ur as a ski coach and salesman at SkiPass since 1997, then can work during the winter.

– It is very good to hand the baton as manager of the SkiStar destination in Åre to Sebastian. He knows SkiStar and Å very well and has significant experience serving guests along with running a ski resort and good driving, which is very important in this role, he says. Niclas Sjögren Berg, former destination manager of SkiStar Åre, today is the chief operating officer of SkiStar AB.
