Sheeran’s Pond Is A Surreptitious Swimming Pool Claim Neighbours

The pond Ed Sheeran has built at his Framlingham, Suffolk, home could be intended to be used as a swimming pool, it is claimed.

Suffolk Coastal District Council gave planning permission for the pond on the basis it could only be used to support the biodiversity of the area and not for any recreational activity. However, reports say local residents have told the council its design means it is intended to be used as a swimming pool, prompting them to investigate.

Resident Andrew Cattee commented: “What was initially a wildlife pond has… become a recreational swimming pond, now with the addition of steps, handrail and jetty.” He continued: “What I would hate to see here is that this is taken one step too far and transformed into an area of development that is for no gain to the wildlife that lives there but only to add to the amusement of those that reside at the property.”

The issue of gaining planning consent for home improvements is something that can confound everyone, from the millionaire in their mansion to the ordinary home owner. However, while aerial photos do reveal a kidney-shaped design with crystal clear blue water it could just be that the millionaire musician is simply trying to attract a better class of frog.
