Mrs. Julian: “Open wounds and bruises”

As he approached the group of youths, Shawn noticed one boy acting strangely, so he turned to the rest of the group as he asked for directions.
– He was talking to two boys, who seemed to be fine, when he felt a big shock from the side. He fell to his knees and then fainted. The perpetrator must have kicked or punched him continuously while he was on the ground because he had open cuts and bruises on his face and body, Julian says.
“He thought he was going to die.”
After a while, Shawn Molen got up and returned to the bar where his colleagues were still.
– He doesn’t remember any of this, he was so badly injured and couldn’t speak because his jaw was broken and his teeth hung in his mouth like a crystal chandelier, Julian Molen tells Nyheter24.
When Shawn called Julian at 3 a.m., he could hardly understand what he was saying.
– All I could understand was “I was abused” and “I love you”. He thought he was going to die, Julian says, and continues:
– I was sick and panicked.
Once at the hospital, Julianne saw a man in front of her who was not at all like Shawn.
– He underwent surgery the following Thursday at York Hospital to repair his broken jaw, crushed eye socket and chin with five titanium plates and screws.
“We were destroyed as a family”

– He has flashbacks, nightmares, is afraid of the slightest sound, is paranoid about his safety and no longer wants human contact. He cries like a baby. We are destroyed as a family. I can’t see how he’ll ever recover, Shawn talks about meeting with his children after the incident:
– My daughter was horrified to see him and could not be near him. My son was so upset by all this that when he tried to hug his dad he pulled back.
Julianne describes how she herself is devastated after the incident, but still wants to tell about the attack because no suspected perpetrators have been arrested.
– I worry that justice will not be served and that someone else will be involved in the same thing or something worse, she tells Nyheter24.
