Khadi Saknia of Sweden in the women’s final of the long jump at the Indoor World Championships.
Gadia Sognia had to settle for three tabs.
Then the internal WC is finished.
Nothing worked, she says.
Overtramp in the first jump and 6.20 in the second.
Before the third jump, Gaddy Sagnia had to jump at least 6.55 in the long jump final at the indoor WC in Belgrade.
But it does not want to.
Sweden’s third jump ended at 6.42, thus ending Sognia’s WC.
– It’s bad, nothing works, then Sognia says with disappointment.
– Now it’s the outdoor season that counts. Rest now, exercise, then go outside.
Gadi Sagnia, the big medalist in Sweden’s Indoor WC, won bronze in the Indoor EC last year.
At the Belgrade competition, Sagnia finished twelfth, 6.42 – 28 cm short of his annual best.
Sognia told C Mori that apart from the feeling of “shit” it felt good on the first jump (overtramp) before it went downhill.
The 27-year-old was able to see eight jumpers with three more tabs, from the side that compensates for the medals.
Serbian athlete Ivana Vuleta won the gold in 7.06 seconds. Nigeria’s Ice Broom won the silver medal with 6.85 points and England’s Lorraine Eugene won the bronze medal with 6.82.
