Noran and Peters will lead the way

The Hero Cup is a newly established team competition that is a kind of warm-up before the Ryder Cup in September.
Great Britain/Ireland, captained by Tommy Fleetwood, meet the rest of Europe, captained by Francesco Molinari.
There are ten players in the team. They have been selected by Ryder Cup captain Luke Donald.
Like the Ryder Cup, there will be best ball, fours and singles.
Five baseball matches on Friday, ten foursomes on Saturday and final singles matches on Sunday.
There are many young players who want to take the opportunity to show the captain what they can do. 40-year-old Alexander Noran is one of the experienced Foxes. On Friday, he was paired first with Belgian Thomas Pieters. They depart at 08.05 Swedish time.
– This is an unusual beginning for us. I love match games. We’ve definitely trained over the holidays and now we have to get into competition mode, so I’m taking this as a good opportunity to do that. The coach said, I’m probably the oldest player here, and I probably am. But I don’t really see myself as a mentor. Golf is very personal. I have my problems and they have them, he tells DB World Tour.

Four of Europe’s highest-ranked players – Rory McIlroy (world number one), John Rahm (5), Matt Fitzpatrick (9) and Victor Hovland (10) – are not in Abu Dhabi.
Eligibility for the Ryder Cup runs until September 3, 2023. Six players can enter the team. Donald drew six wild cards.
The team currently consists of John Rahm, Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry from the European list and Victor Hovland, Alexander Noran and Spaniard Adrian Otegui from the world list. Otaegui, who played in LIV, was also absent from the Hero Cup.
The Ryder Cup takes place from September 29 to October 1 at the Marco Simone GC in Rome.
