There is the Northern League of Legends Championship (NLC). Announced Extension to its sub-sections. The new format will create five regional events in Great Britain, Ireland and the Nordics, and these events will feed into the larger NLC competitions.
The format saw the third and fourth divisions of the NLC removed and instead a first division and a second division sitting above these new regional events. As for why this change is being made, it is in an effort to promote grassroots competition in the regions.
At the end of a season, the top two teams from each regional league are invited to the NLC Regional Promotion Series, where they compete against the bottom two NLC Division 2 teams in an attempt to earn a spot in the big league.
As for what the various regional leagues are called, they are; UK & I League, Denmark League, Sweden League, Norway League and Finland League. The image below shows how each league will be divided.
When can we expect these modernized NLCs to be operational, the format will be used only when the regional leagues start from August.
