The reason is the viral trend on the Tiktok app, which means that large groups of teenage boys wear black suits and go to movie screenings. According to British cinemas, the gangsters, calling themselves the “cute minion”, behaved undisciplined, among other things, taking bananas with them and uttering applause and cheers during performances.
It is not clear where this trend is headed But #gentleminions videos show that the elegantly dressed groups appear to be copying the movie’s hero, Supervillain Felonius Gru, and his signature hand gesture with his fingers, The Guardian writes.
“We are currently not accepting children without a party for adults dressed as Minions: The Story of Gru,” movie chain The Regal wrote on Twitter.
However, Universal Pictures, which produced the film, backed the trend and tweeted, “To everyone who appears in Minions in a suit: We see you and love you.”
