Wille Skinnary, Minister for Development and Foreign Trade, will visit London on November 24. During the visit, Minister Skinnary will meet UK Trade Secretary Greg Hands and Development Minister Andrew Mitchell.
“Great Britain is a close and like-minded partner of Finland. Our cooperation and dialogue are important in this world situation right now. We are looking for solutions together,” says Minister Skinnari.
Minister Skinnary and Minister Hands will discuss, among other things, work to improve bilateral trade between the countries, the potential for a green transition and current trade policy issues.
Finland and Great Britain are closely cooperating on issues related to adaptation to climate change and funding this work. The two countries belong to the Champions Group on Adaptation Finance for its first meeting at ministerial level in Lahtis in April since the climate conference in Glasgow.
Together with Minister Mitchell, Minister Skinnari will address issues related to, among other things, the impact of development financing, the reform of the financial system and the international alliance for school meals that Finland is running with France.
