After much talk and talk, Nintendo released a new type of Switch last year. However, this wasn’t the powerful Switch Pro that was echoed, the only difference being that it had an OLED panel that was also slightly larger than the LCD on the original version. A little sad, but it still looks like Nintendo has plans to release a more powerful Switch Pro.
Recently, Nvidia has been subjected to some data snooping and from data that has been removed from the graphics giant’s servers, a new graphical API has been mentioned that can be used in the more professional Nintendo console. More specifically, NVN2 was mentioned and since the Switch’s graphics API was under the name NVN, NVN2 is supposed to be a regular sequel to that. What Nvidia can do with this is not clear, but references to both radiation tracking and DLSS have been found, which are very nice buzzwords.
In any case. We’ll see if Nintendo has plans to release a Switch Pro, or a Switch 2. Launching a Pro version, or a sequel, a year after a new, updated version sounds a bit bad, but Nintendo is Nintendo and will always do it to some extent they want.
