Cat hotel on the coast It is Jessica Devert’s second independent novel, Feeling Happy. It’s a warm and humorous story about summer feelings, to dare and start over. And about cats, of course.
When Juna is evicted from her dream apartment and also realizes that her estranged ex-boyfriend has cheated on her for money, the world collapses. Without a job or a place to live, she takes her four beloved cats and goes to her grandfather in Bohuslan, whom she has not met in thirty years. You’ll move to his guest house in Räkholmen and they start to get to know each other and their shared family history a little bit temporarily.
One step at a time, Jonna gets to know the local hairdresser, the handsome carpenter, and those who have lived on the island their whole lives – special and somewhat unreachable people. She is not interested in meeting any new love, but when it turns out that the rich man in the village loves dancing as much as you do – something comes alive in her heart. Maybe a chance for a little bit of everything is possible in Räkholmen?
The typical small coastal community of Räkholmen is Grundsund which is located outside Lysekil. A place that Jessica knows well and has spent all summers since childhood.
