Yesterday, SEGA released a trailer for Like a Dragon 8, which was then the eighth game in the main Yakuza series. However, the game is not called Yakuza 8 but like Dragon 8, which will be the new western name for the Yakuza series.
In Like a Dragon 8 we will be able to play as two characters, which are of course Kazuma Kiryu but also like Ichiban Kasuga whom we were introduced to in the side path Yakuza: Like a Dragon. However, the game won’t be released until 2024. It’s a long wait to see what Kazuma has done with his hair, but it might be worth it.
But already next year, SEGA will be releasing a new side story starring Kazuma Kiryu. This game will be called Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and it will be released in 2023. The game is said to be half the size/length of the main games. The game’s plot takes place at the same time as Yakuza: Like a Dragon and will provide players with answers to what happened to Kazuma after Yakuza 6.
Both games will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Like a dragon: Ishin! The Ronen River Rise
Sony showcased two new Samurai games during tonight’s exciting State of Play game. The first thing that was shown was like a dragon: Ishin! It is part of the Yakuza series. This game takes place in the year 1867 in a fictional version of Kyoto. However, this is not a new game but a modern version of Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin! Which was released in 2014 for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. However, this game was never released in the West, so it is interesting to release it now for everyone who wanted to play it with English subtitles. Like a dragon: Ishin! It will be released in February 2023 for PlayStation, Xbox and Windows devices. A longer trailer for the game can be viewed here. The other samurai game they showed was Rise of the Ronin. This is a role-playing game developed exclusively for PlayStation 5 by Team Ninja. However, it won’t be released until 2024. A trailer for this game can be seen below.
