Returnal is a really sharp PS5 game that combines fast-paced action and roguelike elements. The game was highly appreciated by many, but it still received a lot of criticism because it was not possible to save where you wanted it. When the game closed, players had to start over. No wonder it’s a roguelike, but for people who have struggled to get a meter, it can really hurt. The developers did not want to go into a real savings system, as this would interfere with the way the game works, but with the new update, the gang found a golden way.
Cycle hold is the name of the new save function and even if it is not a normal save function, it will probably be appreciated by players. If you turn off the game or console, your successes will be saved during the round and you can jump right to the point where you left the game when you start Returnal again. Just like I told the console to sleep, that is. There are some pitfalls in this. Among other things, you cannot create a suspension point during boss fights, intermediate sequences, or intense battles.
In addition, Housemarque has added a portrait mode that allows you to create rather thin still images around the rather unpleasant areas of the Atropo.
The update has now been released.
