It remains to be seen whether Apple is working on a “finger device” or just a patented device. But the patent appears to be undeniably linked to the Vision Pro. It is a glove/finger holster that contains haptic elements to help users feel 3D objects and provide a realistic feel when working with virtual keyboards.
The patent, which is very vaguely worded, states: “Each of the finger-worn devices may have a body that serves as a support structure for components such as force sensors, accelerometers and other sensors, as well as haptic output devices. On side parts connected by a part located next to the user's fingernail The body may be made of a malleable material such as metal or may be made of adjustable structures such as sliding body parts that are connected to each other by magnetic attraction, springs, or other structures.
Such a glorious glove or fingertip could give Vision Pro users a better ability to handle objects and do other work. Currently, Vision Pro is limited to a few hand gestures.
