The fire caught up at lunchtime on Saturday. A 26-metre luxury yacht has caught fire in the southern port city of Torquay in Devon, England.
The yacht is still ablaze this afternoon. A private event has been kicked off and both the port and nearby beach have been evacuated, local newspaper Devon Life writes.
At the same time, several videos and photos were posted on the burning yacht. It shows how open flames and a meter tall smoke tower rise from the deck.
According to Devon Live, the yacht is worth 6 million pounds, which is equivalent to more than 74 million kroner.

Holds 8000 liters of oil
A statement from the rescue service before 2pm indicated that there were 8,000 liters of diesel on board.
“The event is ongoing and updates will come constantly”Rescue Service writes.
The police were also called to the scene. According to the authority, there is no information about the injured. It also warns the public not to get too close to the fire area, and announces the closure of adjacent roads.
“Due to the levels of smoke and gas fumes, we are asking area residents to close their doors and windows at this time. We are also urging the public to avoid the area and the police are disinfecting beaches for public safety.”the statement said, according to Devon Live.
It is still unknown who owns the yacht.
