343 Industries recently moved its plans for Halo Infinite. You can see in it, among other things, that the next season of the game will not start until March 2023. This means that the seasons of the game will be longer than initially promised.
Another slightly weird thing they announced regarding this is that local collaborations are no longer something they’re working on. Split-screen co-op has been a half-holy thing to many when it comes to Halo and it’s been something that was promised. But in order to focus their resources, according to them, on more important things, they have chosen to get rid of them and it remains to be seen how many people will actually miss it.
“In order to improve and accelerate the ongoing development of the live service, and to better handle player feedback and quality of life updates, we have reallocated studio resources and are no longer working on the local split-screen co-op campaign.”
In an effort to give players some news before March of next year, they will release an update they call the Winter Update sometime during November. This update will bring two new maps, a new game mode and online co-op in the campaign.
