England suffered their first defeat since the World Cup in Qatar, with 17-year-old striker Endrick's late winner giving Brazil a deserved 1-0 win at Wembley.
Gareth Southgate's side were hoping to move on as they continue their preparations for Euro 2024 this summer – but with captain Harry Kane injured and Jude Bellingham frustrated, the Three Lions lacked a creative spark.
Brazil came close to scoring in the first half, hitting the post through Lucas Paqueta, and took the lead in the 80th minute when substitute Endrik scored the equalizer after Jordan Pickford blocked Vinicius Junior's shot.
Paqueta was lucky not to receive a second yellow card after one of his many fouls on Bellingham – while another worry for Southgate was Kyle Walker joining a lengthy injury list ahead of Tuesday's match against Belgium.

Endrick gives England and Gareth Southgate another issue to solve ahead of Euro 2024
After the controversy surrounding the new England shirt, concerns about players wearing it. After the unnecessary culture wars, it is the most important footballing decisions that tempt Gareth Southgate. The year that could end 58 injuries for England began with a first defeat since the 2022 World Cup quarter-finals and a performance that quashed speculation that England should be favorites for the 2024 European Championship.
The charming game didn't quite live up to its billing, but the excitement was provided by its vulnerability Selecao a team. On a night when many young England players were hoping to leave an indelible mark, the rookie who etched his name in history was Endrick, the 17-year-old who became the youngest scorer in a major international match at Wembley. As for their most experienced manager, Dorival Junior, 26 years oldy And the prestigious job brought the perfect start.
But England's display was less than modest enjoyment. Players who needed to play well didn't; Or not to the point of resolving Southgate's selection dilemmas for the summer. Paper planes were flown into the crowd, but very few players booked their places on the plane to Germany.

Jude Bellingham's kick against Brazil sends warning to England at Euro 2024
Jude Bellingham in full flow was a sight Wembley were starting to get used to. Leaning forward, the ball almost hanging from his outstretched toes, he is dynamic but in perfect balance. Then I arrived in Brazil. The beautiful game? Yoga bonito? Not tonight. Instead, he faced the tactical error: the sight of Bellingham on his back proved an even more depressing image during this 1-0 defeat.

End of the match: England 0-1 Brazil
A very lackluster performance from England overall, with a lot needed in attack. This is perhaps understandable given Kane's absence, but a few of those who were playing for a place gave a great account of themselves.
Ezri Konsa played well when called upon, while Rice and Bellingham were as reliable as ever. Despite Gordon's good performances, there is nothing to suggest that he has the ability to play in an international tournament – at this stage of his career.
Gomez provided a good reminder of his reliability, while the other defenders did nothing to suggest that the usual back four will change ahead of Euro 2024.
In midfield, Gallagher gave a disappointing performance, while Rashford failed to make any impact during his time on the field. On the other hand, Kobe Maino showed what he can offer that Gallagher can't always: a bit of composure in possession and the ability to beat any player.

End of the match: England 0-1 Brazil
For England, attention turns to Tuesday's match against Belgium at Wembley. The home side will need to play better to beat the Belgians, who were held to a 0-0 draw by the Republic of Ireland earlier this evening.
The last two matches before the start of the summer tournament will be against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland, before they start the tournament against Serbia on June 16.
The Brazilian national team continues its preparations for the Copa America tournament against Spain on Tuesday. The last two matches before the competition will be against Mexico and the United States, both of whom they could face in the final stages.
They will begin their Copa campaign on June 25, although they do not know their opponent yet.

Harry Kane will return to Munich and miss England's friendly match against Belgium, while Gareth Southgate could also miss Kyle Walker for Tuesday's match.
England captain Kane was at Wembley to watch the 1-0 defeat to Brazil, but the ankle injury he suffered was serious enough to rule him out of the upcoming friendly. “He will be back. He won't be ready for Tuesday's game,” Southgate said.
Walker wore the captaincy in the absence of Kane and Jordan Henderson, but the Manchester City defender came off in the first half.
Southgate added: “He hasn't had a lot of injuries, so he himself isn't sure whether it's just a strain or not. “I think if he feels it, it's a little more than that, but we'll know more in the next 24, 36 hours.
Henderson and Cole Palmer could be fit for the Belgium game, with Southgate saying: “Both players trained today and they got through it well. They should be in the group that trains tomorrow and we'll go from there with that.”

More comments from Southgate
Here's more of what Southgate told Channel 4 after the match.
On Gordon, he said the winger was “excellent on both sides”, while Chilwell was “aggressive in his defending and gave us that display”.
“We have to manage it carefully so, [Harry] Maguire, Jude [Bellingham]We needed to physically take them off the field so it wouldn't help the pace of the game.
Regarding Walker's injury, he said he did not know how serious the injury was.
He added: “He feels something, but he is not a player who gets injured often, so he is not completely sure about his injury, so we will have to evaluate it over the next two days.”
Southgate later confirmed to the media that Harry Kane would return to Germany to continue his recovery from injury.

Southgate speaks to Channel 4
The England coach was the first to speak to the media after the match.
He says England “partially controlled the game” and had “as many attempts on goal” as their opponents, but “in the end, it was that brutal moment that decided the game.”
He adds that there have been some “really important individual performances for us” and praises both Ben Chilwell and Anthony Gordon.
When asked if this was the kind of match England needed to prepare for the tournament, he described it as “a classic against a South American team”.
“In competition, there are likely to be more cards submitted, and this affects the flow of the game.
“I'm really happy with this great performance.
“When you lose, it becomes negative, but you have to have context.”

End of the match: England 0-1 Brazil
A bit of a painful defeat for England, who certainly expected a positive result from this match.
Team selection is somewhat inconsequential due to the absences and the nature of the friendlies, but there will be question marks over whether some players have enough quality to start for Germany during Euro 2024.
For Brazil, an undeniable positive result. Even if they drew, they were impressive in parts despite the absence of several first-team players. Indrik has clearly announced himself on the world stage, but Vinny Jr., Rodrigo and Paqueta have delivered particularly impressive performances.
