After losing the derby to AIK on Sunday, Djurgården have now suffered two losses in a row and the dream of a European place is slowly but surely fading.
– Yes, it seems dark, you can safely say, but then there are more ways through the cup and so on. But we just have to make sure and do our best now in these last games and see how far it goes, says Jakob en Larsson to SVT Sport.
He fills in for team captain Magnus Eriksson.
– I haven’t looked at the table much but it is clear that we keep losing football matches and if we lose like this to a team that is third from the end, it will obviously be difficult.
Sporting director Bos Andersson believes they have had everything in their hands the whole time since their European exit to FC Luzern, where they had at the time and eleven games left to play again in the Swedish top flight.
– We have every chance to win every match if we go in with good spirit, but we didn’t do that against AIK or Varnamo. We cannot rely on other results, we have to do it ourselves, so whether or not that is enough for Europe is another matter. But it goes without saying that we are a little north of Östersund for the start of the European Games, he says.
