Last week, some Xbox users discovered that clips from the game console could no longer be shared on Twitter. Microsoft confirmed shortly thereafter that this was the case, but did not say why the ability to share Xbox clips to Twitter was revoked.
The fact that Xbox clips can no longer be shared to Twitter is believed to be because Twitter charged a fee to access their API, the programming interfaces used, among other things, to share things on Twitter. Microsoft also removed Twitter integration for its advertising platform last week, which we wrote about in a bit here.
However, Xbox users who still want to share clips on Twitter can do so by downloading the clip to the Xbox mobile app and then sharing the clip from there. In other words, it’s way more complicated than sharing clips from Xbox to Twitter.
