British defense minister collapsed during interview on Afghanistan

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace appeared in a live interview with Britain’s LBC channel on Monday. He explained how the country should evacuate citizens who are still in place in the country. During the interview, Wallace can’t seem to hold back her tears, according to reports Washington Post.

– I deeply regret that some people do not return, he said before repeating:

– Some people don’t come back.

Wallace also described the presence of British forces in Afghanistan and noted that they were only there to assist the British people on the ground with documentation. Britain hopes to evacuate them all by August 31.

– We are only now in Afghanistan, and for the past two weeks we have been to help these people. We are not doing any other diplomatic efforts, we are only there to help the people we have an obligation to help. “The people in our forces are risking their lives for this, but it’s the right thing to do,” he told LBC.

“I am a soldier”

When asked why he finds it difficult to hold back tears when talking about the topic, he replied:

– I’m a soldier. He said it is sad what the Western world has done and we have to do our best to get people out.

Wallace served as a captain in the British Forces before being appointed Minister of Defense in 2019.
