BoKlok wins land grant in Eslöv – planning neighborhoods with a focus on community and sustainable lifestyles

BoKlok was declared the winner of the land title competition in Marieholm, Eslöv. The grant is based on preserving the existing nature and designing a neighborhood of six semi-detached houses and twelve apartments in green areas for a community and sustainable lifestyle.

The municipality of Eslöv named BoKlok’s contribution “Kvarteret Trädlunden” as the winner of the land allocation competition for an area in East Marieholm. The grant fits with Eslo’s long-term vision to further develop the municipality with a focus on sustainability:

– BoKlok’s proposal matches how we envision sustainable development of land and water and how climate-smart densification can be done in the intended location. So we welcome BoKlok, says Johan Andersson, Chairman of the Municipal Board of the Municipality of Eslöv.

Maria Forsel, project manager at BoKlok, explains the basic idea behind Trädlunden:

– We are very happy that our contribution was successful and it is our hope that Drudlunden can be seen as an example of how to build and live sustainably in the municipality of Eslov. We build according to the so-called “Green Heart” principle, which means that we use the site conditions and arrange our houses to create safe, car-free and green areas for the community, where natural resources can contribute. A sustainable lifestyle, says Maria Forcell.

BoKlok’s idea is based on five existing trees that are allowed to exist and control how the area is designed. In front of the trees, a common green space is created surrounded by six semi-detached houses built in wood, with solar panels on the roofs and charging posts for electric cars in the common parking lot. Constructed of recycled brick and paving stone, the neighborhood is planned for meeting spaces and a sustainable lifestyle, through growing boxes and greenhouses. Plants in the area can be irrigated with rainwater from rainwater barrels and delayed water reservoirs.

The area is close to Storgaden and the train station as well as a preschool and school. The planned start of sales for the semi-detached houses of 5 rooms and 117 square meters is estimated for autumn/winter 2024.
