Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition is finally released today

A modified version of the classic adventure game Westwood.

Movie licensing games have rarely been something to get excited about, but one of the exceptions is without a doubt Blade Runner – Adventure game developed by Westwood and released in 1997. For a few years now, Nightdive Studios has been working on a remake, but the project was very risky problempartly because they don’t have access to the source code.

But, fortunately, the project was not stopped, and now the transformer is already ready. And not only that, because it was already released today for PC, Xbox, PlayStation and Switch. The adapter gives us, among other things, extended intermediate sequences, higher image refresh, higher resolutions, better control support and an improved interface for clues.

An earlier video comparing the new Intermediate sequences with the old ones received some criticism because it looked too smudged and seemed to lose some of the perceived richness of detail in the originals. This criticism seems to stand with the new promo above, with some claiming that it appears they smeared the lens with Vaseline and that the game doesn’t look “redesigned enough”. However, it hasn’t been released yet, so we’ll have to wait a few hours before we can judge the matter for ourselves.
