It’s all about the beautiful jet-set town of Portofino, whose colorful and luxurious residences attract a large number of visitors every year.

However, the city itself is not very populated. Just 500 people live in Portofino, on Italy’s northwest coast, near France.

The city often attracts stars like Jennifer Lopez, the Kardashian family and Oprah Winfrey, who love to take selfies in droves.

But now residents of Portfino are fed up with all the queues that arise as visitors stop and take selfies all the time.

– A city on the Italian Riviera has banned parking and queuing in certain areas.

– The reason is that they want to prevent tourists from wandering around popular viewpoints to take selfies, according to BBC News.

The mayor was confused

If you don’t follow the rules and persistently stop taking selfies, you will now be fined.

– If you stop too long you can be fined up to 275 euros, says the TV channel.

Portfino’s mayor has slammed tourists’ selfie frenzy, which is creating traffic jams that annoy regular residents.

The so-called selfie ban was introduced over the Easter weekend.

The exception is in the morning

The plan is for the moratorium to be seasonal and apply until October.

But there’s still an opportunity to take a selfie at even the most popular spots in Portofino – even during the busy summer months.

But you must be an early riser.

Tigers and bears

There are additional places around the world where selfie bans have already been introduced.

The United States, France and the United Kingdom have imposed similar restrictions in certain specific locations.

– Both New York and California have banned selfies inside zoos and areas where wildlife and endangered animals may be in the background.

Another place where selfies are banned is the Tower of London, including the complex that houses the British Crown Jewels.
