Field Sport UK in Ashby has been nominated as a National finalist for the Visit England Tourism Superstar Award.
The venue near Blount has transformed what was once a landfill into a popular activity centre.
Field Sport's location, on the edge of a national forest, means clients can fully immerse themselves in nature, which in turn promotes positive mental health.
A social media post from Field Sport UK says: “We have a dedicated and supportive team of coaches, who go the extra mile and ensure everyone is having fun in a safe and professional environment.
“We offer customers a unique experience of learning new skills, some customers have been inspired to take up a new hobby, such as air rifle shooting and are now part of the extended Field Sport UK family, using the range facilities on site, making new friends along the way.
“Others have also become sports champions.
“We promote sustainable means of running our center including solar lights, composting toilets, structures made from forest thinning and our residential ponies who work hard to provide us with poo, yes poo!, which is turned into bricks to burn on our log stove.
“They also keep the grass trimmed which saves mowing.
“Our team is passionate about what we do, creates an environment in which we take pride in working to deliver high-quality visitor experiences and constantly strive to improve our offering.
“We are also committed to supporting other local businesses.
“As a champion of the local area, we hope people will support us and vote for us to be their Tourism Star! Please help us spread our good news so we can bring the award back to North West Leicestershire.”
“We thank you all for your continued support over the past 10 years.”
