Asa Hedden has been elected to the ITF Board of Directors

At the International Tennis Federation’s annual meeting in Cancun, Mexico, Asa Hedin was elected as a new member of the Board of Directors.

Asa Hedin has been the President of the Swedish Tennis Federation since 2020. Within the ITF, she is already represented on the Sports Science and Medicine Committee and therefore now holds a seat on the Board of Directors.

β€œIt is a huge honor and a huge pleasure to be selected and have the opportunity to influence the future of tennis globally at the highest level,” says Asa Hedden.
– From the Swedish point of view, it is good in many respects. It strengthens our international voice, one example of which is having the opportunity to participate in decisions regarding the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup in terms of the format and distribution of prize money. We also gain increased knowledge and access to how other countries work, which we inform in our decisions.

David Hagerty, representing the United States of America, has gained renewed confidence in the presidency. 28 people applied for a seat on the Board and the following 14 people were elected as members:

Rafael Westrup, Brazil
Brian Heinlein, USA
Lionel Olinger, France
Salma Muehli Al-Qizani, Tunisia
Bulat Utimuratov, Kazakhstan
Jack Graham, Canada
Nao Kawati, Japan
Philip Mok, Hong Kong
