Another big shock for Trey Kronor at the World Cup – an early deficit against Great Britain (!) after a referee that no one understands

It should match Great Britain.
Then Tre Kronor ended up at an immediate disadvantage – after a fiercely contested ruling.
Nothing can be found in the rulebook that he should be able to agree to, says Chris Harnstam and points out to judges in Sweden.

Sweden had a terrible start to this year’s World Cup, and after losing two of their first three matches – against Denmark and Belarus – it will be really tough for Sweden to make it to the finals this year. A win is required in all three remaining matches, but strong opposition in Russia in particular awaits.

unexpected judgment

However, many counted on three obvious points for Friday afternoon’s Great Britain meet, but talk of a cold shower is straight for Sweden. Right at the start of the match, Great Britain (!) led 1-0, but it was the debate that was much talked about.

The British striker ended up in a duel with NHL star Rickard Rakel, then slipped against Swedish goalkeeper Victor Fast – at the same time as a puck was thrown towards goal. Fast was properly run over by the British player, at the same time as the puck crossed the goal line. After much deliberation, the goal was approved, a big surprise.

– It’s surprising. I was absolutely convinced that it was a cross-talk. a stranger. But what a cold shower! Says SVT expert Jonas Anderson.

‘It shouldn’t be a target’

Chris Harnstam, who commented on the match, says the Swedish referee informed him of his thoughts. And they seem to agree.

It shouldn’t be a target. I can’t find anything in the rulebook he should be able to agree to, says Härenstam.

Härenstam also says after a while that he received a text message from the Swedish Hockey Federation’s referee director, Joel Hansson.

– One could argue that the Swede is the one taking him down, but then the fallen player also has to try to avoid contact with the goalkeeper – and he doesn’t, says Härenstam says Hansson.

Five minutes before the end of this period, Sweden tied 1-1 through Markus Sorensen.
