The Swedish Migration Agency has decided to suspend implementation in Afghanistan.
This is since the Taliban movement has taken control of large parts of the country, which has changed the security situation in the country.
The authority announces in a press release.

According to the legal director of the Swedish Migration Agency, Karl Bexelius, the security situation in Afghanistan is “alarming” and “difficult to assess”, which is why the authority has now taken the decision to impose an indefinite suspension.

– Security developments in Afghanistan are worrying, but difficult to assess. The Taliban has expanded rapidly and continues to expand its control over territory in the country. That is why today we have decided to stop law enforcement in Afghanistan, he says in a press release.

The decision means that no deportations or deportations from Sweden to Afghanistan will be carried out as long as the moratorium is in place.

Carl Bexelius estimates that about 3,500 people in Sweden are affected by the decision.

There are approximately 7,000 people in Sweden with decisions to deport or deport to Afghanistan. Half of these are directly affected by the suspension of enforcement, while the other half currently have a valid temporary residence permit.
