Today, EA announced that DICE LA, the support studio that helped acquire previous Battlefield titles and is working on the new Battlefield 2042, has been given a brand new name. Nowadays, the studio will be called Ripple Effect Studios In addition to the new name, we also found out that the gang is working on a new, wholly owned project. Christian Grass, General Manager at Ripple Effect Studios, says this about the name change:
“At Ripple Effect Studios, innovation and quality are at the forefront of every project even the smallest idea that can change the world. This is the hallmark of the new studio name. We are so proud of our work that DICE LA and the DICE team will forever be a part of our DNA, but throughout The past eight years, we have developed our own culture and our own way of doing things. We are excited to look to the future, expand the team and create our own identity.”
The studio will now try to recruit some new talent that could help complete Battlefield 2042 and then move on to the new project. Everything about it is unknown, but when you start EA Play Live in a couple of weeks, we may find out what happens and what happens on the build next.
