British transport giant Stagecoach announced on Monday that it has placed an order for new buses worth 1.2 billion Swedish kronor for its operations in Great Britain. That’s around 480 new buses. Over the past ten years, Stagecoach has bought more than 6,500 new buses worth around twelve billion kronor.
The big winner is British bus manufacturer Alexander Dennis, ADL, which can deliver the majority of the buses, but Volvo also gets its fair share of the pie with just over 20, while Mercedes-Benz gets 30 Sprinter City 45 minibuses. In addition, Optare can sell six Optare Solo Slimlines.
All new buses are equipped with surveillance cameras and most have Wi-Fi. Deliveries start in the spring and all buses should be delivered before the end of 2017.
