Västernorrland consumes the most data in Sweden

Västernorrland consumes the most data in Sweden

Telecommunications company Globalconnect has analysed the amount of data consumed in different parts of Sweden during the first two quarters of 2024, and published the results. In a press release.

The data is based on fibre network analyses in around 500,000 households in 20 counties and speaks for itself: people living in Västernorrland county are the best surfers in Sweden by a wide margin.

The average consumption per household in Västernorrland county is 567 GB per month, slightly above the average of 450 GB per month. The county took first place in the first and second quarters, while Västra Götaland county took second place in the first quarter, but dropped to fifth place in the second quarter.

Uppsala County had more consistent data consumption and came in third place in both Q1 and Q2. On average, Swedish households browsed 2,693 GB of data during the first half of the year in Sweden.

Minimum data consumption in Kalmar County

The least amount of data is consumed in Kalmar County, which has an average consumption of 325 GB per month – about 43 percent less than Västernorrland County and 38 percent less than the national average.

Globalconnect does not speculate on what regional differences might mean. Nor does it explain statistics showing that households with an apartment as their form of residence consume 21 percent more data on average than their counterparts living in a house.
