- Fourth Generation X-Trail
- It is based on a new platform with full flexibility and up to seven seats
- It was launched with Nissan’s innovative e-POWER drivetrain
To complement Nissan’s crossovers lineup, the all-new Nissan X-Trail will be launched in Europe in the summer of 2022.
Like the Nissan Qashqai, the X-Trail will rely on the CMF-C * platform, an advanced platform developed for, among other things, Nissan’s advanced e-POWER. The new X-Trail is the fourth generation of the popular crossover, which was first introduced in 2001. High flexibility, versatile interior designs, as well as excellent driver assistance technology are the features that follow in the new model. As before, a third row of folding seats will be available for families who need additional seats. The new X-Trail is spacious yet compact enough to be easily parked.
Electronic power
The all-new X-Trail will be available from launch with e-POWER, a technology uniquely developed by Nissan and an important part of the company’s smart mobility strategy. The unique thing about e-POWER is that the gasoline engine powers a generator that supplies power to the high-performance battery and that the vehicle itself is powered by an electric motor. This means that the gasoline engine always runs at a constant and optimal speed, which saves fuel and reduces CO2 emissions compared to a conventional gasoline engine.
With the release of the 4X4, the new X-Trail will continue to be a good choice for active families who need a lot of space and powerful driving characteristics. The system houses an advanced configurable four-wheel drive engine, which ensures good maneuverability in all types of driving conditions.
Full crossover range
After the launch of the second generation of JUKE in November 2019 and the global launch, in July of 2020, of the all-new ARIYA crossover with 100% electrification, as well as the upcoming launch of the popular and innovative Qashqai, the new X-Trail demonstrates Nissan’s bold and innovative grip for a fully or partly electric future . This is one of the most important strategies for Nissan Next, Nissan’s comprehensive changeover plan for the future.
“The Nissan model range continues to be revamped. The new X-Trail remains true to the established SUV formula, which has proven to be a success for Nissan since its introduction in 2001. The new X-Trail will provide more efficiency, improved quality, versatility and innovative technology. It will complement the other crossovers in the range and provide customers with a unique SUV with an electric drivetrain and features that meet their daily needs.“Guillaume Cartier, Senior Vice President of Nissan Africa, the Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania (AMIEO) says.
