What is The Late Late Show?
The Late Late Show is Ireland's most popular and prestigious television program and the longest running chat show in the world.
The chat show began in 1962 and featured the likes of Gay Byrne, Pat Kenny and Ryan Tubridy as hosts.
Quilty said before his debut on the Late Late Show RTÉ That introducing a chatbot is a “huge deal.”
He said: “I grew up in Co Down and at that time, what people were going through was an escape. This was a window into normalcy. Coming out and being able to host a show that you once watched with your family friends when you were a kid, I mean that's a really big deal.”
“I think when you take charge, you take care of it, you're the custodian of it. So obviously there will be things, people will recognize and should recognize.
“I think my job is to bring my personality to some of that stuff that's already out there and maybe do the little things that are weird and different, and keep fingers crossed for people who like it.”
The set list and guests for the upcoming season have been kept under wraps, but all will be revealed during tonight's show.
