Nio is now working to improve the Nomi voice assistant in its cars, by integrating GPT technology from Microsoft Azure. This means that Nomi will now be able to handle more complex questions and can contribute in more intuitive language while providing vehicle-specific information.

The result will be a more personal and intuitive user experience, says New, who adds that answers will be more accurate and relevant. The driver can get assistance with most functions without having to take his eyes off the road or take his hands off the wheel.

The new Sharp Nomi and Nio will be rolled out continuously via wireless software update from today onwards. All European customers who own a car based on the current NT2 platform will benefit from this function.

However, from the beginning, it will not be available in Swedish, but will be implemented in English, German or Norwegian.

– Nomi has proven itself as an intuitive and fun way to interact with our smart electric cars from the beginning. Thanks to the GPT functionality, Nomi can now generate more relevant answers and handle more complex questions – making journeys more useful and positive for our users, says Benjamin Steinmetz, Head of Product Experience at NIO Europe.
