Prince Harry is expected to return to the UK soon, but if he doesn't, an expert says he will have “some explaining” to do. The Duke of Sussex is due to return next month to mark the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games and is due to speak at a special mass at St Louis Church. St. Paul's Cathedral on May 8.
Royal writer Tom Quinn believes Harry will likely return to the UK because not attending the event would highlight his strained relationship with Prince William – and if he doesn't return, it will be because he doesn't want to face any embarrassment.
Speaking exclusively to woman“Barring a big surprise, Harry will definitely be back in the UK for the Invictus Games in May as his baby,” he said.
“If he decides not to attend, it will take some explaining, because everyone will assume it's because he doesn't want the embarrassment of having to meet his brother or having to choose not to meet him.”
Harry and William had been estranged for years, and the pair failed to reunite when Harry last returned to the UK in February.
Tom continued: “Not attending would be worse than finding some sort of compromise where Harry sees William for 10 minutes or coming up with a reason why he doesn't have time to see his brother and father and has to return to the States.” To be quick with his children, but no one will be fooled by these excuses.
The Invictus Games could come to Birmingham in 2027, with the UK Government having made a multi-million pound bid.
Johnny Mercer, the Veterans Affairs Minister leading the bid, commented: “It feels like a natural round the clock back in the UK and we will do everything we can to win the bid.”

Following his recent visit to the UK to see King Charles following news of his cancer diagnosis, Prince Harry spoke about his future plans to return. He had a half-hour conversation with his father during that visit.
On Good Morning America shortly after, Harry shared: “So my family and my life in California is the same.
“I've got other trips planned. This would take me across the UK or back to the UK, so you know, I'll stop and see my family as much as I can.”
He also expressed his thanks for having the opportunity to see the King earlier this year, saying: “Look, I love my family. The fact that I was able to get on the plane and go see him and spend any time with him, I'm very happy.” Grateful for that.”
