Red Bull Formula 1 team boss Christian Horner is under investigation after a complaint was made against him for inappropriate behaviour.
Red Bull said it took the allegations “seriously” and began an investigation.
Horner (50 years old) oversaw Red Bull's record-breaking 2023 season, in which the team won 21 out of 22 races, bringing Max Verstappen to his third world title.
Horner says he “completely denies” these accusations.
Although Red Bull have not confirmed the nature of the complaint, BBC Sport understands the allegations relate to an allegation of inappropriate behavior of a controlling nature.
“After becoming aware of some recent allegations, the company launched an independent investigation,” Red Bull said in a statement.
“This process, which is already underway, is being carried out by an external specialist lawyer. The Company takes these matters very seriously and the investigation will be completed as soon as practicable. It would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.” “.
In response to a question about these accusations by a Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf“I completely deny these allegations,” Horner said.
Horner has been Red Bull's team principal since its debut on the Formula 1 grid in 2005, and has gone on to win seven Drivers' Championships and six Constructors' Championships with the team.
After receiving an OBE in 2013, Briton Horner was named an OBE in the New Year's Honors List last year after Red Bull won all but one grand prix in the 2023 season.
He raced competitively as a young man but retired at 25 and set his sights on managing a Formula 1 team.
Red Bull is scheduled to launch its latest cars on February 15 before the start of the new season in Bahrain on March 2.
