Rumors that Samsung is working on a cheaper foldable model may turn out to be true.

Samsung has long been rumored to have plans for a cheaper version of the foldable Galaxy Z Fold models, something the company has neither completely denied nor confirmed. Now traces of a new foldable device have emerged indicating that an alternative version of the Galaxy Z Fold is under development.

The current Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 are positioned under the internal codenames B5 and Q5. The new devices referred to will carry the designations B6 and Q6, which should be the regular Flip 6 and Fold 6. There's also been a device codenamed Q6A since November, suggesting an alternative model to the Fold 6. The hardware components of the device should start being delivered at the same time as the Q6 model, so it could launch alongside this year's Galaxy Z Flip and Fold in March. August of this year.

However, it doesn't have to be about the Fold model in the Z series, it could also be about plans to introduce foldable models in the cheaper A series, as the device could be the first Galaxy A Fold phone to be launched.
