Get a complete summary of driving on Pacific Drive

At least we were lucky with the weather.

Next month, it's time to wander an old manor carriage into a supernatural landscape in search of answers, materials and a way out. In a new video, Ironwood Studios has given us a detailed breakdown of the game's mechanical loop Pacific Drive.

It all starts in the garage, where you can repair or replace parts of the car, create upgrades, tinker with new colors and diagnose different quirks that the car develops during the journey. You can then plan your way through the map, which lists both the hazards and resources you'll encounter – however, the area is subject to change and not everything is shown on the map.

Once out on the roads and in the terrain, there are resources to search for, which can be found in car wrecks, in facilities, and other places. The most valuable resource comes from devices called anchors, which collect energy from the area to prevent it from spreading. This energy is collected, and when you have enough you can open the portal back to the garage – the only way back.

However, the gate opens at some distance, and when that happens, the area goes into overdrive to put the brakes on someone experiencing an unstable storm. Therefore, it will be a battle against the clock to reach the gate. Little by little, new car upgrade schemes are unlocked, allowing us to delve deeper into the area.

Pacific Drive will be released on February 22 on PC and PlayStation 5.
