The hidden feature called “Elon Mode” has been found by To dig deep into Tesla’s code. The hacker was previously able to unlock the use of the then-unknown power seats and camera in the Model 3 before it was officially enabled for customers. He has now released some videos demonstrating “Elon Mode”, which is the self-driving mode. The first thing he noticed was that there was less need for driver attention in the situation compared to Tesla’s full self-driving ability.
Impressions after nearly 600 miles on 11.4.3 with Elon mode (couldn’t get a non-Tesla car to test it in time).

The test was conducted in what the hacker claims is a “company-owned car” that appears to be a Model X. “greentheonly” also notes that it has become much more difficult to hack Tesla cars since it began in 2017.
