This is why Nine Agency is selling Nouw.com – ‘It will grow faster’

This is why Nine Agency is selling Nouw.com – ‘It will grow faster’

Aim to return to profit this year.

The previous year was a significant one for the Gothenburg-based Nine Agency. The company has undergone a process of restructuring in order to grow faster in the long run. Among other things, they revised their strategy and dropped the parts that performed their role in the company.

Looking at the figures in the 2022 financial statements, turnover increased from SEK 31.8 million to SEK 32.1 million. However, the operating result at the same time has shifted from profit to loss. From about SEK 700,000 in 2021 to 1.7 million last year.

Our turnover has definitely increased, but not as much as in previous years. Primarily based on the planned restructuring of our strategy, offering and packaging. It was a change that we chose at the expense of our growth with the aim of being able to grow faster and with better profitability in 2023 and beyond, and which we are also now starting to see results from, Jonas Westling, Head of Nine Agency tells Influens.se and adds:

The result is partly related to the above, but also that we have elected to make significant investments in both people and our products in 2022, as part of our new strategy and continued growth.

Some readers of Influence may be familiar with the blog entry Nouw.com, where many influencers run their blogs. What everyone may not realize is that the Nine Agency was behind the blog site.

We started the blog portal Nouw.com in 2014, and since then we have been running the site, which was the largest blog portal in the Nordic countries and remains so today – it has not been closed down, says Jonas Westling.

Thus, Nouw.com was not put into the grave, but Nine Agency chose to divest its investment in the project in 2022.

However, we had reached a point where in part we reached out to a buyer who could run the site further, but also when we needed to re-organize our technical resources internally to work with our new products, and that’s why it became natural to sell-no.

For this reason, the limited company changed its name from Nouw Media AB to Nine & Co Group AB. According to the report, the goal is to change to an already positive outcome this year.

How are things going in 2023 so far?

This year has started very well for us and we are very much in line with our expectations, which are based on continued growth in line with previous years. We see how our new strategy and approach has worked and we look forward to being able to focus on continuing as Nine’s agency and being able to introduce new products and services in the future, concludes Jonas Westling.
