Fifty years after David Bowie’s last performance as Ziggy Stardust, his alter ego is returning to Hammersmith Odeon, and to cinemas all over the world. On July 3, you’ll enjoy an entire evening dedicated to Ziggy.

On July 3, 1973, David Bowie retired his alter ego Ziggy Stardust by announcing during a concert at the Hammersmith Odeon to 5,000 stunned fans that “This is the last show we will ever doAfter 50 years, Live at the cinema invites you to an entire evening dedicated to Ziggy Stardust!

From the Eventim Apollo (formerly the Hammersmith Odeon), a world premiere of the digitally restored version of the concert film will be broadcast live Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture. Before the movie, a conversation from the stage with Bowie’s classmates and famous musicians about the historic concert is shown.

The panel discussion participants are:

  • Phil Alexander (moderator)
  • Richard E Grant (actor and friend of Bowie)
  • Mike Garson (former Bowie pianist – will also open up the conversation with the Bowie medley on piano for 7 minutes)
  • Ken Scott (Ziggy and Aladdin Sane producer)
  • Graham “Suggs” McPherson (lead singer of Madness and friend of Bowie)
  • Daniel Perry (Ultimate Radio & Jazz FM)
  • Don Letts (musician, DJ and director)

Concert includes previously deleted scenes with legendary guitarist Jeff Beck, including when he plays Bowie’s hit Jin Genie From 1972.
