Zelensky: The attack should have started earlier

– I wanted the counterattack to start much earlier because everyone understands that if the counterattack starts later, large parts of our territory will be mined. We are giving our enemy time and opportunity to deploy mines and prepare their defences, Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with CNN in Odessa on Wednesday.

Missing weapons

According to the president, there are regions in the country that Ukraine cannot even think of attacking because it does not have the relevant weapons. He expressed his gratitude that the United States took the lead in helping Ukraine.

– But I told them as well as the European leaders that we want to start our counterattack early and that we need all the necessary weapons and equipment for that. Why? Simply because if we start later it will be slower, Zielinski said.

The president was also asked how he has dealt with the pressure he has been under since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Zelensky replied that he could not think about it all the time because then he would “close up like Putin who never leaves his bunker”.

He loves AC/DC

Volodymyr Zelensky also said he appreciates the few moments of solitude he gets.

– When I’m alone, I can be with music or a book. And early in the morning, when it is completely quiet, there are no people and nobody. I can read. Think think. And the music really helps.

– I like AC/DC. Ukrainian music, of course, Zelensky said, adding that an early morning workout to the tunes of AC/DC “gives me energy to last all day.”
