It’s silly season in the emoji world. From now on, you can replenish your emoji collection with 21 emoticons upon free transfer.
To access the new emoji additions, tap Settings -> General -> Software Update and download the new iOS 16.4 update to your iPhone or iPad.
Among the new emoji are a moose, goose, jellyfish, fan, and an old man emoji that looks derailed. The latter already seems like a new favorite for all the emoji lovers out there.
Update 16.4 consists not only of new emojis. Among the new improvements from Apple is a setting that better isolates your voice from ambient noise. A welcome feature for those who don’t use headphones.
Here are all the new features in the new iOS 16.4 from Apple:
- 21 new animals, hand gestures and object emojis are now available in the emoji keyboard.
- Web app notifications have been added to the home screen.
- Sound isolation for mobile calls emphasizes your voice and blocks out ambient noise.
- The Duplicate album in Photos can now detect duplicate photos and videos in your shared iCloud library.
- VoiceOver support for Maps in the Weather app.
- Accessibility setting that automatically fades video when flashing lights or strobe effects are detected.
- Communication safety for children allows parents to enable warnings for children when they receive or send images containing nudity.
- Fixes an issue where Ask to Buy requests from children may not appear on a parent’s device.
- Fixes an issue that caused Matter-compatible thermostats to stop responding after pairing to a home.
- Incident detection has been improved on iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.
