Slim, Thinner, Mix Fold 4
One of the standout features of foldable phones has been their thickness, but Xiaomi's new phone is well under 10mm.
Xiaomi It has unveiled a new foldable phone that excels in a number of physical ways. For example, it’s reinforced with a type of carbon fibre that makes it noticeably more durable than its predecessor, but also makes it thin and light. The Match weighs 226g, but the most noticeable difference is in thickness – it’s 4.59mm thick when unfolded, and 9.47mm when folded. It also has an IPX8 rating, which means it’s water-resistant but not dust-resistant.
The outer display is 6.56 inches with a variable screen refresh rate of 1 to 120 Hz, 418 ppi density, and 3,000 nits brightness. The foldable display is 7.98 inches but has the same specifications.
The battery capacity is 5100 mAh with support for 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Under the hood is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, and depending on the configuration, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The main camera has a 50MP sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. There's also a 50MP 2x (47mm) image sensor and a 10MP periscope with 5x optical zoom. The fourth camera on the back is a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Additionally, there are two front-facing cameras – one for each display – with a resolution of 20MP each.
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 comes with Hyper OS based on Android 14.
Whether or when it will be released outside China is currently unknown.
