It is now possible to be nominated for the “Social Entrepreneur of the Year” award. The award will be given to an entrepreneur who has established a company with a core business that contributes to a better society. Almedalen Week focuses on societal issues and most of the events revolve around sustainability (11%), so everyone with an interest in community and sustainability issues is invited to nominate a social entrepreneur.
EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year award is one of the world’s best awards for entrepreneurs. In order to win the Honorary Social Entrepreneur of the Year award, an entrepreneur must, in addition to meeting the overall evaluation criteria for the Entrepreneur Award, run a business in which the social benefits are as important as the financial benefits. The nomination period runs until August 31 and you can nominate here: oy.ey.com
We are looking for entrepreneurs who run companies whose impact on society is the core of their business. The goals of the entrepreneurs should be to find solutions to any of the global challenges facing the world, for example related to climate, health or inclusive growth, and in line with the global sustainability goals of the United Nations. We look forward to receiving the nominations, says Susanna Balling-Hosko, director of sustainability at EY in Sweden.
This year’s official program for the dippers It contains nearly 2,050 events and the most popular theme is sustainability (11 percent), followed by democracy (7 percent), climate/environment (6 percent) and health and care (6 percent). This suggests that there is a commitment to these issues and the hope is that many will want to nominate entrepreneurs who will contribute to a better society.
