Academy Award-winning composer and producer Ludwig Göransson has collaborated with musicians from around the world to create the soundtrack for “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Disney+ is now releasing a three-part miniseries about the creative process behind the music.
The series follows Göransson and director Ryan Coogler as they meet and collaborate with musicians from Nigeria, Mexico and Great Britain. In the first episode, which will be released on February 28, Coogler and Göransson are in Lagos and meet musicians who play traditional music, modern Afrobeats, Alté, and R&B. We hear music from artists like Fireboy DML, Bloody Civilian, and Busiswa.
The second episode takes place in Mexico and explores a wide range of music – from folk to hip-hop. Artists such as Foudeqush, Vivir Quintana, and Mare Advertencia are participating.
The final episode arrives in London, at the legendary Abbey Road Studios recording studio. Göransson is recording the music with Jorja Smith and Burna Boy and is putting the finishing touches on the album.
